Driving In
If you live nearby, then driving into the port is a great option for you! Given that the cruise starts & ends on a Sunday, traffic is always light, and there is $15/day parking provided at the cruise terminal just a few yards away from the ship! Just make sure that you arrive in time for embarkation! Your ticket will provide you with a specific time as we approach sail day, but normally your embarkation time will be between 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
You can get more information about parking & directions from the Cruise Maryland website.
Air Travel
Don’t live in the Baltimore area? That’s fine. But you’ll probably be needing to plan your trip in via the airport. The closest airport to the Baltimore Cruise Terminal is BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) and is served by all major airlines.
There is a flat fee for taxi’s to/from the cruise terminal and BWI as well. It’s a $50 flat rate so that you don’t have to worry about variable costs striking you at that point. However your best option for price is probably to take an Uber. When we checked an uberX will cost you around $18 and an uberXL will be $35. It’s a short 10-15 minute ride from airport to the Cruise Terminal. There are also a number of shuttle services that you can use. Regardless of your plans, you’ll need to make your way to the cruise terminal in time for the ship. They won’t keep it waiting for you.
Hotel
To that end, many people who cruise choose to fly in the day before. So that they don’t have to sweat it out if their flight is delayed or they miss a connection! We have booked a block of rooms at the Aloft BWI Airport Hotel. This hotel is conveniently located just 10 minutes outside of Baltimore, right next to the airport for guests who will be flying in. We’ve negotiated a discounted rate of $109 for Saturday night, July 16th.
Please use the special StarGroups website we have setup for this event to book your room, to guarantee that you get the discounted rate!
Transportation from the hotel to the cruise terminal will follow the same situation as from the airport. There will be a flat $50 taxi fee, or you can use Uber for between $18-$35 depending on the size of the vehicle. Depending on how many people we have staying at the hotel, we might also look into chartering a shuttle for everyone, but we will have to wait until much closer to do that. Also we are also working to plan an evening event the night before the cruise for everyone who has shown up early. This will allow us to get people registered for the conference in advance, and let people mingle together that evening! Stay tuned for updates!
