About

Welcome to the website for php[cruise] happening in July 2016!  Twelve years ago php[architect] ran a conference-cruise and it’s time for us to repeat the event.

We have been doing a lot of work to put together an amazing conference, and unique event for you.

Carnival PrideWhy?

Why would we want to put a conference on a cruise ship?   Our primary conference focus at php[architect] is making immersive events.  We design all of our conferences to have full-day long activities to keep all the attendees & speakers together — learning from each other and building relationships during the entire week.  As opposed to a conference in city centers, where as soon as the last session lets out, you never see any of the attendees until the next morning

For 7 days and 6 nights, you will be on a ship with other attendees.  Learning from each other, team building, and forming community relationships that will last for years to come.  A conference on a cruise is the the ultimate immersive experience.

Slides!Family

All of our conferences are family friendly.  We have many attendees bringing their whole family with them (and in fact some of the php[architect] staff’s family often attends to help run the events).  However we wanted to make an event that was much more than that.  So we’ve added a family track that is FREE for family members of conference ticket holders to attend, with workshops for teaching people to code (and play Minecraft).

Having the conference on the cruise ship really helps drive home the family aspect as well.  There are amazing activities for family members both on and off the ship, and daycare is provided for young kids and clubs for older teens.  You can find out more about these on our cruise details page.

Also, we’ve planned all our non-conference-session events to be based around family.  We’ll bring all the family together for our lunches & dinners, as well as for any fun evening activities that we plan, such as taking over a balcony at a stage show, or over-running the comedy club together!

BahamasCost?

Of course, part one of the biggest questions will be cost; however, you’ll be excited to know that we’ve priced this event to be hyper-competitive and cheaper than attending a normal full-week conference!  We want to make sure that everyone can afford to attend if they want.  Conference ticket prices start at $250 and cruise tickets at $819 … you can learn much more on this topic by visiting the pricing details page.

And as always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions at all.  We are very happy and ready to help answer any concerns!
